Baskets
Ever
heard the term “under water basket weaving”?
That’s exactly the method used to create these
beautiful and authentic works of art. Traditionally,
the men of the northern villages weave the baleen baskets.
For those unfamiliar with it, baleen comes from the
whale’s mouth.
It serves as the filtration method of gathering tiny
plankton and krill from the seawater for consumption.
These Alaskan Native made baskets are rare and are ever
increasing in value. A definite must have for the serious
basket collector.
